How did you feel
before your
Creme Branding
Experience?

I felt like my brand was a bit too trendy and it really didn't quite feel like me anymore. I think truthfully, I just outgrew my brand quicker than anticipated and as a result I so craved a new look and aesthetic that was in line with the work I was producing and the work I knew (and know) I am capable of bringing to life. Before my rebrand I blended in with the rest of the industry and my goal has also to be different than the rest; you can imagine this slight conflict made me feel like there was always something that felt a little off.

How do you feel now?

I feel like I'm home. I feel like my new brand truly reflects what I put out into the lives of my clients, their families, their friends and even their vendors. The hopes and dreams I have for Hey Gorgeous Events are embodied fully in what Kathryn has created for me. I feel like this is only the beginning for further growth with my business — not to be bigger but to be better. To be a small but powerful boutique business and brand. To live authentically and creatively like I was meant to.

What did you walk away with after working with Kathryn?

A friendship. Peace of mind. A brand I can feel proud of. My time with Kathryn provided me with so many tools and benefits that far exceed my new logo and website.

Did you have any
"Aha!" moments
along the way?

Of course! The main one? It's VERY hard to nix trends and be true to who you are. I've always felt very confident in my ability to avoid trends and stay true to me, but this process really tested me on these fronts. My goal throughout this process was to represent how much I've grown as a designer and business woman over  the past five years and that meant steering clear of anything that was not timeless, feminine or approachable. Kathryn consistently challenged me with questions resulting in true a-ha moments like realizing a calligraphic logo was not for me anymore, that a very minimalistic web design was the best for showcasing my work, and that every single photo I was going to share on my site, would need to circle back to my core and my goals.

Is there anything you are excited about for your business now?

Everything. I feel so grateful to have the brand I do.

What was it like
working with Kathryn?

Kathryn is such a brilliant artist and above all else, is patient, kind, understanding and selfless. To find these qualities in someone so talented was a little intimidating to me at first. But take five minutes with Kathryn and you too will be amazed with her charisma and ability to take what you feel, dream and think, and conceptualize it into something that translates to others. I never felt stressed or overwhelmed when I had to make decisions throughout this process and it was because I had a support system, friend and mentor in Kathryn. She is a gem, a rare gem.

Do you have any advice
on branding for others?

Don't brand because everyone else is doing it or because someone else has a prettier brand than you. I can name at least ten other brands that may look better than mine on paper BUT those brands don't speak perfect volumes about the business I've built, the woman I've become or the things I've accomplished as perfectly as my new brand does. In a way, branding circles back to my favorite quote that 'the grass isn't always greener on the other side but the grass is usually greener where you water it.' When it is time to brand or rebrand, do it for the right reasons and listen to your gut throughout the entire process.
